Our own Peter Tomlin takes a top UK Coaching Award

The focus is so often on the sporting success of individuals and teams, but what of the coaches behind the scenes who gave them the confidence and nurtured their skills to get them there? That’s where UK Coaching and its prestigious annual awards come in.

At an awards ceremony in Leeds earlier this month Peter Tomlin rubbed shoulders with the coaches of the Red Roses rugby and British Rowing teams, to name just a few of the people who inspired young sportspeople to believe in themselves and achieve success.

Peter won the 2025 Change a Life Award. And doesn’t that perfectly define what it’s all about? We couldn’t be more proud, and we know that all those participants and their parents who’ve experienced his coaching will be queueing up to congratulate him!

“This isn’t really just for me, but for the other 1,700 RDA coaches across the country” said Peter in his acceptance speech. And we couldn’t agree more.
