Our superheroes team rocks a triathlon
Two weeks on, we’re all still on a high from the Superhero Series Triathlon we took part in at Dorney Lake in Windsor, all to raise money for the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA).
This disability sports series gives people living with disabilities the chance to take part in sport their way, without worrying about cut-off times or equipment restrictions.
Think that might mean they’re not competitive either? Think again, everyone in the team was in it to win it, whether than meant crossing a line first, or a new personal best. But the very best things about the day were the way our team supported each other, and just how much fun everyone had.
This challenge is no easy feat. They each conquered a 150m swim, powered through a 3km bike ride, and finished with a 1km walk or wheel. All of them gave everything, ably supported and cheered on by friends and family, proving that superheroes take many forms, that teamwork can achieve great things, and that it really is what you can do that counts.
“The Superhero Triathlon was just amazing, an incredible experience that I’ll never forget. Hearing all the inspiring stories, seeing the costumes… it was just a joy to be a part of it.”

“For Lucy and me to be around like-minded people in such an inclusive environment was special. It was such a happy day and the enthusiasm and dedication of the team supporting Lucy in her challenge was lovely to see. Lucy getting a medal to bring home was the icing on the cake!”

If you’d like to congratulate our superheroes, a small donation to the RDA Superheroes Triathlon fundraiser is what they’d like best, with all proceeds helping to provide more sessions to more children and adults who need it.
