We’re charity of the year for Inner Wheel President Cindy Platt
Inner Wheel is an international women’s organisation committed to promoting service with friendship, and international understanding. Raising funds for local charities is a key objective.
The Kingston branch has just elected Cynthia (Cindy) Platt as its new President, and she has chosen Park Lane Stables as her charity of the year. Her fundraising will be supported by the Inner Wheel club.
Cindy has loved horses all her life, and been a rider and volunteer with Park Lane for many years. About 15 years ago she qualified as an accredited Equine Assisted Coach which she found hugely rewarding. She also qualified as a Bereavement Counsellor and did this until retirement.
She is now embracing the coming together of all of these roles with gusto and has already organised two fundraising events for the Stables.
In July Lexy gave a really interesting talk to the Inner Wheel club about life at Park Lane behind the scenes. She was presented with a cheque for £100 raised from the raffle that evening.
In August the club held a garden party with the theme of a ‘Teddy Bears’ Picnic’. Guests brought their own bears and took part in guessing games such as ‘guess the age of the bear’, delicious homemade sandwiches and cakes were served, and there was a home produce stall and a raffle. The event raised a cool £400 for Park Lane.
Thank you so much for your energy, Cindy! We couldn’t do what we do at Park Lane without volunteers and supporters like you. All your friends at the Stables wish you continued success in your term as Inner Wheel Kingston’s President.
