Prodney’s blog: Can you mind the shop?’, they said

My role at Park Lane Stables is what you’d call ‘front of house’ if we were a restaurant – I meet and greet visitors, and oversee the smooth running of the yard in a supervisory role. But this last few weeks it’s been all hooves on deck…

It’s been such a busy time that this week they asked me to mind the shop. I don’t think they thought this through – how am I meant to put books and cards into jiffy bags with my hooves? ‘Ah yes, we see your point’, they said.

Supervising the sorting out of old numnahs now we have some very smart new ones thanks to a grant we received

So instead I’ll do my bit by making the shop the subject of this month’s blog post (which I dictate to a human in case you’re wondering).

Firstly we want to say a big thank you to everyone who has ordered books or cards from us, adopted a pony, or bought something from our Amazon wishlist. People have told us what a great present a book or an adoption is when every penny supports our work. And when we’re delivered goodies that we really, really need from Amazon we all get so excited (especially as there’s always a few treats in there too!). If you’re not sure what to choose, haylage, chaff and feed are fantastic as we get through so many bags of these every week through the winter months.

If you’d still like to buy something from our shop I’ve been asked to point out that Monday is the last posting day for arrival before Christmas.

And any day is a good day to gift us something on Amazon. After all, didn’t someone once say ‘horses eat every day, not just at Christmas’? I might have misremembered that one…

Head to our Shop and Donate pages for the full list of options – and thank you for supporting us.
