Prodney’s blog: Well, I must say, all these new faces around is good news

I remember the early days in Teddington just after Natalie had started Park Lane Stables when it sometimes felt as if it was the two of us against the world. Now the Stables is so much bigger and thank goodness that the regular human team is getting some extra help.

Volunteers from Savills poo picking in the field

I may be a dab hoof at welcoming our visitors, and overseeing the yard, but honestly, without opposable thumbs there’s a limit to how much I can help with serving up tea at our events, or poo picking. (Plus I am a Russian aristocrat, and there are limits to what I should be seen to be doing.)

The smiling faces of the Savills volunteers recently has been a very positive addition to the yard. I understand that their day job involves selling houses. It’s all very curious.

From mucking out to fundraising, on behoof of the whole team, I’d like to say a big thank you to Savills.

Hot news on the yard is that we’ve been selected as one of the Charities for this year’s prestigious Richmond May Ball. It’s going to be a LOT of work, but at least Savills have promised us that they’ll be able to help. This is a black tie event and one of THE places to be seen in this part of London.

Everyone’s scratching their heads about where we can get some top-notch items to auction at the event. Now if I still had my old contacts I might have been able to swing a personal tour of the Kremlin, or a box at one of my races…but sadly that’s all long ago now. If anyone reading has anything to rival this (not in Russia, of course), I know that Natalie would be delighted to hear.
