Park Lane Stables brings an RIBA London Award home to Teddington
Behind every award-winning project is the messy chaos of the build!
Back in February we shared that our fabulous home in Teddington, and its architect Sam Kamleh, had been shortlisted for a prestigious RIBA London award. And in May we became one of the winners!
In a grand ceremony on 14 May, 43 winners received awards, recognising them as the finest architectural projects in the capital. Our modest stables sat alongside some very grand projects – the Natural History Museum’s new gardens, a major mixed-use waterfront development in Brentford, a block of 75 later-living flats in East Ham – and the overall winner UCL East in Marshgate (a giant building in the Olympic Park for University College London).
The renovation of Park Lane Stables was described as ‘an inventive and compassionate conversion of a row of historic stables’ which ‘demonstrates how architecture can deliver profound social impact even at a very small scale’.
“Park Lane Stables RDA is a trailblazing example of how social impact can be achieved through collaboration, ingenuity, and determination.” Julia Roberts, London Jury Chair
