The horse’s mouth blog: hello from the cuddle door!
By Rita
I’ve been a bit under the weather recently so I am currently the lucky resident of the stable with the cuddle door looking out onto the street in Teddington.
Normally I’d spend time playing with best friend Olaf and the rest of the herd in the field, but it’s a treat to be getting so much attention in Teddington. Obviously I’m very cute, so when I peek over the half stable at passers by and flutter my lashes they can’t resist stopping to say hello and give me scratches. There’s also a separate door onto the main visitor and therapy room at the Stables, so whatever’s going on, inside or out, I’m in the thick of the action. Just how I like it!
All of us at Park Lane Stables love being part of the herd, and we all have special friends. So I temporarily have a lot of human herd-mates, which has its advantages. Mutual grooming with Natalie is a bit weird (but she’s not bad at it), humans give great cuddles and when snacks are on the menu I’m first served. What’s not to like? I can feel myself getting better just from all the extra attention.
If you’re local to Teddington do drop by and say hello!
Our ponies are the true heroes of Park Lane Stables! They give so much so happily, and we make sure they receive the very best care that we can give them. Caring for 25 horses is scarily costly, and paid for exclusively through donations and fundraising. If you’d like to thank our ponies with a bale of hay or a tasty salt lick, just head to our Donate page. Every single donation helps to fill the feed store.
