The builders are on site in Teddington!

It’s finally happening, and we couldn’t be more excited. The builders moved in to our historic stables in the heart of Teddington in mid November, and expect the whole refurbishment to be completed in March 2024.

Building site at Teddington. The building has its roof removed and there is a temporary scaffold up to keep the site dry.

With a bit of luck we’ll be returning to riding and carriage driving in Bushy Park before it’s enveloped in the glorious scented blossom from the avenues of ancient lime trees.

Our architect Sam reports from Teddington:

“We’re very excited that the work on the stables has now begun! The strip out is underway and it is interesting to see the bare bones of the early 19th century building – what was original and what was added later; which walls were safe and which weren’t – almost none of them were tied back or meet current building regulations. While this is happening we’re also thinking ahead to the named bricks and the stable doors.

We’re grateful for the incredible support from the local community, and the loveliness of immediately affected neighbours. Thank you and we’ll do all we can to minimise inconvenience.”

Watch out for monthly updates and photos, and wish us luck that all goes smoothly!
