The Pony Club at Park Lane Stables

The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for youngsters interested in ponies and riding. It was founded in England in 1929 and is now represented in 18 countries and has a membership exceeding 100,000.

Park Lane Stables is an official Pony Club Centre where children can learn about horses and pony care as well as improving their riding, all whilst working towards a variety of badges and achievements.

The Pony Club training structure encourages Members to take tests, which enables them to learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding. The tests are taken at recommended ages and are designed with certain objectives in mind.

Badges and achievements which can be gained at Park Lane Stables include:

Mini Achievement Badges
For those not quite old enough to take Achievement Badges and are designed to instil the basic principles of the main achievement badges topics such as grooming, point of the pony, poisonous plants and birds

Achievement Badges
An advancement on the mini achievement badges and includes more advanced topics such as first aid, loading, lunging and tack cleaning plus non-equine badges such as bird watching and farming

There are lots of other achievements and events for children to take part in once they are a Pony Club Member. We often arrange days away from Park Lane Stables to attend events with our Pony Club Members.

After school club every Thursday and Friday

Time: 4pm - 5:30pm
Price: £15 per person per day

Every weekend Saturday or Sunday
Time: 9am - 1pm including a 1 hour ride
Price: £50 per member
£60 per non-member

Park Lane Stables takes safety and security very seriously, which is why all of our riding instructors are BHS qualified and all of our full-time staff and volunteers are CRB checked. Staff are trained in first aid and children are always supervised when undertaking any activity. We have a separate childrens' party room for talks, learning and games, which is supervised at all times and we provide the relevant saftey equipment where required.
